Why is the mission of Wings with Wheels so important?

We believe that everyone deserves the chance to experience the pure freedom of flight. By utilizing specially designed adaptive rolling chassis rigs, we completely eliminate physical boundaries to the sky, offering individuals with mobility challenges an empowering, thrill-filled adventure that builds confidence and community.

How do donations directly fuel the organization?

Every donation goes directly toward maintaining our specialized flight equipment, covering aviation fuel costs, and funding flight days so that our adaptive flyers can experience the sky at absolutely no cost to them. Your support keeps our rigs rolling and our flyers soaring.

Can I start a community fundraiser for Wings with Wheels?

Absolutely! We love working with community advocates, local businesses, and peer-to-peer fundraisers. Whether you want to host a local event, a digital campaign, or a birthday fundraiser, contact our team and we will provide you with a media toolkit to help you get started.

What are the requirements to become a volunteer?

No prior aviation or paragliding experience is necessary! Our vital ground crew helps with everything from equipment setup and logistics to assisting our adaptive flyers on the turf. All you need is a passion for inclusion, safety, a willingness to work outdoors, and a desire to make a difference.

What exactly is an adaptive flight rig?

It is a custom-engineered rolling chassis designed specifically to allow individuals with limited mobility or physical disabilities to safely take off and land without needing to run or use their legs. The rig integrates smoothly with our flight gear to ensure absolute safety, comfort, and a seamless launch into the air.

Are there any physical or age restrictions for adaptive flyers?

Our mission is to make flight accessible to as many people as possible. Because we use highly stable, specialized rolling equipment, we can accommodate a wide range of mobility levels. We evaluate each participant's unique needs individually prior to flight day to ensure maximum safety and comfort.

Where do your flight days and community events take place?

We operate out of open-field locations and regional fly-in spots that offer optimal terrain and clear airspace. Because weather and wind conditions are critical for safe flights, we always confirm exact locations and schedules with our registered flyers, volunteers, and ground crew leading up to the event.

Can corporations or local businesses sponsor a specific event?

Yes! Through our higher-tier sponsorship packages, companies can fully sponsor a community fly-in day or even have their corporate logo placed directly on one of our custom adaptive rolling chassis rigs. It’s an incredible way for organizations to demonstrate impactful corporate social responsibility.
